Electrical Test Technician – $30/hr Starting Pay | Industrial Manufacturing | Katy, TX Area

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position located in the Katy, TX area, offering consistent hours and competitive pay starting at $30.00/hour.

You’ll work in a modern industrial manufacturing environment supporting electrical and power electronics systems. The facility follows structured test procedures, quality standards, and 6S practices, with a strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and product performance.

This role is based in Katy, TX and is accessible from surrounding West Houston-area communities.

Job Highlights

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality control testing and basic troubleshooting to verify product performance

• Follow approved test procedures, drawings, and work instructions

• Execute production line acceptance testing, including insulation and functional testing

• Perform visual inspections to confirm workmanship and quality standards

• Troubleshoot basic test failures and document findings accurately

• Identify and report nonconforming units through established procedures

• Safely handle components, cables, and materials during testing and inspection

• Support limited mechanical or hardware assembly tasks as needed

• Maintain organized work areas in compliance with 6S standards

• Monitor work areas for safety, PPE compliance, and equipment concerns

• Accurately record test results and complete required documentation

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical or quality control testing

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings

• Hands-on experience using digital multimeters, current clamps, and electrical test equipment

• Experience testing electrical systems in industrial or manufacturing environments

• Familiarity with higher-voltage electrical systems (including 480V+ and three-phase applications)

• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

• Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical or quality control testing experience

• Exposure to power electronics, industrial equipment, or manufacturing test environments

• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management systems
