Yard Worker / Forklift Operator

Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Position Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Yard Worker / Forklift Operator for a busy building supply operation. This position requires experience operating a sit-down forklift, handling and moving lumber, and accurately reading order tickets to ensure materials are selected and staged correctly.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently throughout the yard
• Load, unload, move, and stage lumber and building materials
• Pull materials according to customer and order tickets
• Accurately read and follow tickets to identify correct products, quantities, and sizes
• Load customer vehicles and delivery trucks as needed
• Organize lumber and materials in designated yard locations
• Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying products
• Maintain an organized and clean lumber yard
• Perform general yard and material-handling duties as assigned
• Follow all company safety procedures while operating equipment and handling materials

Requirements

• Previous sit-down forklift experience required
• Previous experience moving and handling lumber required
• Experience reading and accurately following order/pick tickets
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking throughout the shift
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Building supply, lumber yard, or similar warehouse experience is a plus

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in a lumber yard or building supply environment, is confident operating a sit-down forklift around lumber and building materials, and can accurately read tickets to pull and stage orders.
