Job Description
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for operating a motor vehicle to deliver and pick up various materials as well as assist the Assembly Department by completing various functions.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
• Ensure prompt and accurate delivery/pick up of products, material, equipment, machinery, etc., and meet company and customer expectations and requirements, and must be able to drive a pickup truck with 20' trailer attached.
• Pack orders promptly and correctly by following established standards and add necessary documentation and markings on boxes, which may include special shipping instructions and/or labels.
• Process the packages of the order using a scale to weigh the packages.
• Verify the created labels for proper ship-to address, attach them to the proper boxes in the correct position and orientation, and place the packages for transfer to the shipping/staging area.
• Support the overall Shipping and Receiving department as directed, which may include sweeping or straightening work area, pre-making boxes, cleaning carts, breaking down cardboard boxes, monitoring packaging supplies, delivering packages throughout the facility, and keeping general work area clean and organized.
• Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator must at a minimum possess the following:
• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Possess a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or at-fault accidents in the last three years.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-pressured, and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to comprehend production requirements.
• Be able to speak, read, and write the English language fluently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator must be able to:
• Lift a minimum of 50lbs, repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance.
• Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment.
• Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
• Stand for long periods of time; up to 8-12 hours a day.
