Sterile Compounding Pharmacist Responsibilities

As the Sterile Compounding Pharmacist at our Jupiter, Florida facility, you will be the operational lead for the cleanroom and take ownership of the following responsibilities:

• Oversee all daily cleanroom operations including sterile compounding workflows, labeling processes, and batch scheduling
• Supervise, train, and directly assist pharmacy technicians in the preparation of sterile admixtures and IV preparations
• Review and approve batch records prior to product release, ensuring accuracy and full regulatory compliance
• Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, batch record instructions, USP 797 standards, and all applicable state and federal regulatory guidelines
• Conduct pre- and post-compounding operational checks to maintain consistent product quality and sterility assurance
• Manage and log controlled substances accurately, maintaining all required compounding records
• Lead and participate in deviation investigations, CAPA (corrective and preventive action) processes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Collaborate closely with the quality unit on compliance audits, formula development, and process improvement projects
• Manage real-time inventory of finished compounded products
• Enforce personnel policies and foster a positive, compliant, and collaborative cleanroom work environment

Qualifications & Requirements

Required — No Exceptions:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program
• Active pharmacist license in the state of Florida, in good standing with the Florida Board of Pharmacy
• Hands-on sterile compounding experience as a licensed pharmacist in a USP 797-compliant cleanroom — this is a non-negotiable requirement; applicants without this experience will not be advanced
• Experience reviewing and approving batch records prior to product release
• Working knowledge of CAPA processes, deviation investigations, and quality assurance in a sterile compounding setting
• Experience supervising or mentoring pharmacy technicians in a cleanroom production environment
• Strong understanding of controlled substance documentation and recordkeeping requirements
• Must be able to work on-site in Jupiter, Florida — this is not a remote position
• Experience in a 503A or 503B sterile compounding pharmacy
